INTRODUCTION TO SAWAYANPRABHA

FOREWORD TO SWAYANPRABHA Some creations sprout in such a way in life of the composer and get infrared in his life that it becomes unsolved enigma –when this creation entered stealthily in the life of the composer and when life-breath of the composer started throbbing in it. At times, such an infection comes forth in form of a historical episode too. This can be in reference to both, the composer and his creation.
Composing ‘Swayanprabha’ was very significant for me, from several point of view. Like some miraculous happening. Prior to its initiation and afterwards too, it left a deep impact on my life. It is such a distinct episode that rose and subdued like ebb and tide in ocean, and then prevailed all over my life. I started composing ‘Swayanprabha’ in April, 1990. It took me six months to accomplish this task. This time span was an unforgettable span of my life. Crossing hurdles of the worst period of my life, I had resumed writing.
But why I chose ‘Swayanprabha’? ‘Shriramcharitmanas’ has been my favourite Epic right from childhood. Like other Indian families, my home ,too, had a copy of Manas, published by Gita press, along with several Teekayen with Oringinal text and we had these in our home as a matter of family traditions. Due to this only, at a very early age, I read several times, these TEEKAYEN explaining meaning , along with original Ramchritmanas. I used to attend regularly Akhand Ramanyan events organized time to time at our home and neighbourhood. Owing to these sacraments only, I might have read it hundreds of times, right  from  beginning to the end. Probably, the same impact might have prevailed  over my  poem (Manas kee Garima),composed in 1968 and complied in Anthology of poems ‘ Deh Chandani’.
Just  like  ‘Mahabharat’, ‘Ramcharitmanas’ is oceanic too. Difference between the two is that ‘Mahabharat’ is an ocean, gurgling, splashing roaringly, with distinct characters of Indian culture, whereas ‘Ramcharitmanas’ can be compared to Pacific Ocean, that is rarely confronted with storms, but  defeating them promptly, reflects such a creative image of  constant peace, diving deep in which, your  contemplative diver mind will fetch out of that Manas-ocean of precious stones, priceless and distinct precious stones glittering with divine glow
It is pensive that our writers, literary composers with modern/ comtemporary consciousness don’t appreciate its significance, but I don’t have least doubt that mind of  every great  writer of Hindi  and of other Indian languages too, has been churned by ‘Manas’. Approximately one third century ago, Bachan ji had written in a letter that foundation stone for each and every author ‘s writings should be ‘Ramcharitmanas’. Probably, by Sahitykaar, Bachan ji meant poet ,but, I never confined it to poet only and I absolutely agree with his point of view, since that  very day.
