20. BIRD OF ASPIRATIONS

Our mind
Is a bird of aspirations
Don't clip its wings
Let it soar high

Are our bodies
Not enough

To be confined

21  NATIVE SOIL

Dwelling in urbane
My peacock mind
Longs for
Thickets
How to cope up
With this rural mind
That longs for
Scent of native soil
How can I
Forget my village
Where intimacy showers
In nostalgic
Alleys of kinship.
No corner of world
Can ever provide
Solace to a being departed
From his abode
Can never stop
Reveries of own home.

22. Glaciers

Glaciers of
Cold relations
Melt

Just endeavour to
Give them
Warmth of
Trust smeared love.

23. FOSSILS

Questing for reflection
In mirage and
getting path deviated
Today’s young generation
Wandering like clouds of sand
Will ever be able to leave behind
Imprints of their foot steps on sand
Following which, coming generations
Would get traces of destination.

Winged with imagination
They want to roam
In the golden sky of fascination
T.V.,cyber and disco’s generation
Wants life full of thrill and sensation.

Mercury hearts of youth find awkward
Deep stillness of ripened minds.
Feel sometimes very irritated
When restricted by them
For their unclenched flight
They deem ripe aged like fossils
Devoid of any action or reaction
Despite changes in worldly weather
For them, there is
No spring, no autumn.

Getting sandwiched between
Rocks of time n society
Suppressing their sensations
Burdened by layer after layer of
Crushing silence
Sacrificing their aspirations
On altar of traditions
Meditating silently, life long
They got still, by and by
Like fossils.

Mod generation may name them fossils
Pressed under burden of
Dreary, obsolete customs n rituals
But these fossils are
Evidence of the stark truth that
Humanity breathes values
Due to their existence only

They are not remnants of humanity
They are the land marks
Following which, mod generation
Stumbling on verge of civilization
Can collect treasure of
Sanskars, culture and tradition.

Unacquainted with source of fossils
Aristotle had thus identified fossils
‘These are the moulds
In which God has cast his creations'
Deep spreading roots of
Civilization n culture
They might be fossils
But have been fondly
Nurtured by nature.

 24. WEATHERS OF MIND

Sometimes
Flowers prick us
Like reeds
Sometimes
Flowers bloom
In reeds

Feeling of barren in bloom
And bloom in barren

Weathers of mind
Keep on shuffling
Irrelevant of
Worldly weathers.

25. CHILD LABOUR

Just care to see
That child labour
Half clad
Bearing heat wave
In sun scorched noon
Carrying on his head
Crate full of bricks

Not only crate  full of bricks,
Also carrying burden of
Dead aspirations on his head
Tired steps of that frail labourer
Are stumbling.
With whom can he share his agony?

He recalls
When his mother went for labour
Taking him along
And carried crate of bricks
On her head
Used  to put two bricks
On his head as well
Thus made him accustomed
To way of life that she was leading

Child kept on observing mother
Following same set path
Parted with  his innocent childhood.
Never got chance to move on
Bright pathway of education.
Destined to move on
Thorny road of illiteracy

This road of ignorance
Is taking him towards
Dark future
Dawn of happy life
Getting far away
From his miserable life

Oh that,he could get out of
This forced circle of earning bread
And save a bit of time for himself
To be literate and glorify
His upcoming life

So that the pang of
Untimely death
Of his childhood
That he faced
Is not repeated in
Life of his children
In future life
And they don't
Become child labours
But to school, stride
With joy and pride
Holding school bags
On their shoulder

26. INTERROGATIVE EXISTENCE

O!Mother
Confined in your womb
Scared of my
Interrogative existence
I beseech you
To answer my question

Coz I am a girl
I have become unwanted
Are you ashamed of
Bringing me into this universe?
You would have held your head high
And felt prestigious in society
By giving birth to a guy?

I am a segment of you
Won’t the very thought
Of my extinction
Make you stir and sigh

I may not be able to
Beautify your orchid like rose
Demanding special attention
I will flourish like 'margo'
Growing uncared
Without causing any tension
Bearing life's ups and downs
Won’t cause me frowns

Without me who will appreciate
Consanguinity of brother and sister
Without me who will celebrate
Festivals of Rakhi and Bhaiyaa dooj

How will Durga , Lakshmi and Saraswati
Incarnate on this earth
And without me, the earth's pride
How will groom get bride?

Moved by invoking question of
Entity of the womb
Mother tried to provide her solace
Convincing her with motherly grace

Oh! My yet to be born daughter
I can sense your breath
Your movements and sensation
I am your mother
You are my fascination

It is my sacred duty to generate you
I know only one gist of life
Nurtured on self -less self
Whether it be a girl or boy
Both are equal in mother's eyes

You alight in this world
Safe and healthy
Is my chief concern
Incarnation of creation, power and energy
You flourish in dense shade of affection
I nourish you as firm foundation.

27. A PRAYER FOR DAUGHTER

She is passing through
That glorious phase of life
When days are golden
And silvery are nights.

When bloom comes on cheeks
Beholding herself in mirror
And a pride starts
Gleaming in eyes.

When mind longs for
Gathering stars in lap
And all merry colors of
Spring of life.
Absorbed in rainbow dreams
Ignores real life
.
When she wishes
To flutter in orchid
With an arrogant
Flight of butterfly

When she wishes
To measure sky
With aspirant wings,
Like kite.
Wants to fly
 High and high

When every minute detail
Of mind
Is shared with buddy
And feels that
She can tackle
Every puzzle of life

But, that innocent girl
Does not have any notion
Of reality of  life

A kite can not soar high
Till someone holds its string
Butterfly can not flutter wings
Fearlessly in orchid
Image of rainbow
Also fades
Minute details shared with buddy
Sometime pave way to woe.

Only our own thoughts
Create a  paradise of
Gleaming, golden days
And star studded nights.

O! God, I pray thee
Save her innocence
Protect her from
Merciless winds of time
Don't ever, let her face
Disillusionment of rainbow
Ornament her life with
With colors of faith
Let true happiness
Fetch her glow.

28.Maiden Step

Blossom like delicate feet
Moving haltingly
Stumbling, hesitatingly
Endeavoring to walk
Tender feet have
Just learnt to
Step on the earth

Falling, rising
Swaying, managing
Again toddling
Holding hands of
Affectionate Maa
Eyes mutely
Looking for applause
Endeavours gain support
From motherly grace
Affection and care

The whole courtyard
Echoes with
Tinkling of anklets
And joyous echo
Of success.

29. AN INNOCENT WISH

Papa, Papa,
Come soon
You went in noon
It’s time for moon

Keep out your car
Take me far

Get me toy
It gives me joy

I will scream
Get me ice cream.

 30. WHO CARES
Who cares for storms
After facing
Thunders in life
 Every grief becomes shorter
 After facing bigger one.

 31. My Diwali Celebration

 I illumined a lamp

In your name

With wick of aspirations.

Millions of lamps

Of your reveries

Got impassioned.
