A REPORT OF TWO DAYS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

 TWO DAYS INTERDISCIPLINARY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CULTURE, VALUES AND ETHICS & WORLD POETRY CONFERENCE IN PUNE

Two days interdisciplinary Conference on Culture,  Values and Ethics  was organized by the Department of English , Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahavidhalya, Aundh, Pune, in collaboration with International Academy of Ethics, Chandigarh. The Conference was inaugurated by Dr. Suresh Gosavi, Vice-Chancellor, SPPU, Pune, Sh.Chanderkanta Delvi( Former IAS, Chairman of the RAyat Sikshan Sanstha and literary icon Dr. Jernail Singh Anand,  the President International Academy of Ethics

Dr. Maja Herman Sekulic, globally known poet and Scholar from Serbia-U S was the Conference Chair while Dr. Dragan Stanic , Oresident of Mtica SPRASKA,( Serbian Motherbee) was the Primary Guest of Honour. Other Honourable Guests were Dr. Kalpana Purohit (Keynote Speaker) , Dr. Lakshmi Banerji, Former Vice-Chancellor, Kalhan University, Jharkhand,, Dr. Bina Singh, Former HOD English,  VKM, BHU, Varanasi and Navy Veteran Dilip Mohapatra, celebrated poet and noveslist from Pune.

The Conference attracted 140 scholars and poets from far and wide from States of Assam, Odisha , Telangana, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Panjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Rajasthan.

Dr. Kalpana in her Keynote asserted that literature is a perennial medium for imparting enduring values, ethics and morals.

Dr. Jernail Singh stressed the need for introducing the Ethical Alphabet adopted by the Academy of Ethics, to be followed by educational institutions.

Dr. Maja Herman Sekulic, the Conference Chair, in her concluding note emphasized , "Ethics is crucial for survival of mankind."

PLENARY SESSIONS

The inaugural session was followed by two Plenary sessions, first chaired by Dr. Bina Singh and was moderated by Prof. Seema Jain. Dr. Mesh Yadav, Head & Dean Humanities, University of Engg & Mgt, Jaipur was the Chairman of next session, Dr. Bhagyashree Varma, Prof. Shalini Yadav, Dr. Rajni Chhabra, Dr. Sushminder Jeet Kaur and Meenakshi Goswami participated as Resource Persons. The session was convened by Dr.Tejaswini Patil Dange.

These plenary sessions were followed by Paper Presentations of nearly 100 scholars.

Dr. Jernail S. Anand's magnum opus, Philosophia de Anand which comprises his 10 works of Philosophy was released. 'My Echoing Heart ', by Assamese Poet Punya Devi, Dr. Tamal Neogi's Bengali Translation of 'Lustus' originally composed in English and "Avalanche' a work of translation by Inderjit Singh were also released. 

WORLD POETRY CONFERENCE (Second Day)

On the Second day, the first session of World Poetry Conference was Chaired by Dr. Lakshmishri Banerjee, with Dr. Dileep Mohapatra and Bindi Sharma as Guests of Honour. Dr. Lakshmishri delivered her address on Poetry as a Panacea for the panicstricken world. The Guest Poets included Dr. Bhagyashree Varma,, Dr. Shalini Yadav, Dr. Rajni Chhabra, Meenakshi Goswami, Dr. Tamali Neogi. Dr. Sushminder Jeet Kaur coordinated the session.

In the second session, Chaired by Dr. Bins Singh, had Puniya Devi as Guest of Honour. Guest poets included were Inderjit Singh, Punia Devi, Junmoni Gogai, Mili Das,Jaweed Ahmed, Shihabudeen KJ and Bihudatta Sahu.The session was curated by Lopmudra.

The concluding session had Prof. Seema Jain as Chairperson and Dr. Rajpal Singh as Guest of Honour. Participant poets were Dr. Shweta Singh, Deepak Panwar, Aditi Barwe, Sharda Rajguru, Naureen Aziz and Suhina Bishwas Majumder. The session was ably moderated by Dr.Tejaswini Patil Dange.

The Academy Awards followed Poetry session. The names of  literary dignitaries and poets who were felicitated can be viewed on the website of the Academy.

The Valedictory and Cultural Function added to the spark of whole event.The local artists presented a cultural programme.

Heartiest gratitude to Dr. Arun Andhale ,the Principal , Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahavidhyalya, Aundh, Pune and the organizing commitee for so gloriously managing the whole event.
