MAIDEN STEP

Maiden Step

Blossom like delicate feet
Moving haltingly
Stumbling, hesitatingly
Endeavoring to walk
Tender feet have
Just learnt to
Step on the earth

Falling, rising
Swaying, managing
Again toddling
Holding hands of
Affectionate Maa
Eyes mutely
Looking for applause
Endeavours gain support
From motherly grace
Affection and care

The whole courtyard
Echoes with
Tinkling of anklets
And joyous echo
Of success.
