MORTGAGED

Mortgaged ********** In the palatial corridors With rays of light Profusely scattering Through oriels Like a bonded slave You were standing With folded hands Close to your painting Depicting limitless sky And birds longing To touch the horizon When the patron Was beholding it You stood still As if you were Not the breath Behind this beauty Your wings Could not flutter Clipped and mortgaged To the patron were Your reveries Inspiration And vision. @RAJNI CHHABRA Multi -lingual poetess, polyglot and Numerologist

Sharing his pic as well. Prior to it, I have translated 11 Poetry Books from Rajasthani, Punjabi and Hindi into English as target language and only three poems from English to Hindi, of my fb friend Shyamal Kumar Majumder from Bangladesh, several years ago. Now reviving my passion for translation from English to Hindi as target language. Hope, you will love to read and I will look forward to your comments.

FROM BOOK OF LIFE

From Book of Life **************** When some significant page Gets torn from book of life It leaves behind Half accomplished Will to survive. Sometimes gardener Commits a lapse Plucks such a flower Which when plucked Causes desolation Not merely on that branch But the whole orchard. Leaves behind, withered plant Enwrapping pangs of sorrow In its bosom. A plant That has to be nurtured With tears and blood Instead of being watered What will be The ultimate fate of Such plant of pang. Worrying for ultimate fate Endeavours can not be stopped Getting frightened by Approaching steps of death We can not turn away our face From path of life. As long as there is breath Hope to survive persists. Enchantment to cherish Calculated moments of life Living ages in moments Makes life So full of fragrance It is hard to believe How this thread of life Will break away. Blossoms of affinity Bloom on plant of pa...

REALITY OF LIFE

REALITY OF LIFE Once a skyscraper  Is standing as a shamble  now No merry sounds No noise of chit-chats No whispering sound Only drastic silence prevails Fully flourished tree Is standing as stump now Now kids don't come here for swings No birds come chirping here  No travellers take rest here A boredom of loneliness surrounds I am not alone While departing from here In eve of life I am accompanied  By truth of life This ruin This stump And fearful silence  And boredom of solitude
SCHOOL Since centuries A difference prevails In speed of children Moving to school And in gait while Moving back home from school. Tears flowing from Eyes of child While going to school On his maiden day And history of affection of mother Sending him to school Is as true as Relation of mother and son. Changing history Has not gained New identity till date Child entrapped in sentiments of Traditions and law Still glances once His mother And once his teacher. ORIGINAL POEM IN RAJASTHANI BY SHYAM MAHARSHI JI TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH  BY RAJNI CHHABRA

WILL TO ACCOMPLISH

WILL TO ACCOMPLISH ********************** O! God Let the goblet of my life Remain half filled. So that  endeavours  persist To fill it. When goblet is brimmed A fear follows Lest it should Splash and scatter. When goblet is half filled Endeavour  persists To gather some more Drops in it. The purposefulness That is associated with efforts Is missing in perfection. Brimmed goblet Does not have Room to add more. No expectation remains From life. Accomplishment gives us Satiety and negligence Will to accomplish Stirs efforts. Let me subsist In a little bit of Imperfectness And let me relish from Goblet of life Drop by drop Let me live persistently Striving life. Rajni Chhabra

EXISTENT TO NON EXISTENT Translated by Shyamal kumar Majumder on 24/11/2016

EXISTENT AND NON EXISTENT Gap between Being existent And non existent Enfolds a deep mark Of interrogation If You have to withdraw Then why You give at all Had you not bestowed with Paradise on earth Pang of losing Would not have tortured. A POEM FROM MY e book MAIDEN STEP RAJNI CHHABRA FOR SAND

FOR SAND   This sand belongs to you This sand belongs to me And of more than Yours and mine This sand belongs to Those who Flourish as trees  I fields of sand And then get diffused Again in this sand   This sand belongs to all and Everybody can fall In love with  Fragrance/aroma of this sand.   It is futile  To claim  Right on this sand   If anybody still  Claims right on it Let him do so   Who treats sand  As life breath Who drinks sand On scorching  dunes After maiden rain Who bears fiery humidity Who plays with  Lashes of scorching sun This sand belongs to him We, standing at a distance Only enjoy aroma of sand In hour of need  Only make complaints Keep linked with Love of years on this land This is tradition of sand Sand never preaches  To cut throat of others To assert claim on sand  Is under estimating value of sand
