DEDICATION TO LATE Sh. SANWAR DAIYA JI ON HIS BIRTH ANNIVERSARY TODAY
Feeling elated to present voracious poetry lovers all over the world ' IN THE ART GALLERY OF MY HEART', my English trans-version of choicest Hindi and Rajasthani poems of literary icon Late Sh. Sanwar Daiya Ji, a reputed poet and translator of Rajasthani and Hindi.
He was awarded by Sahitya Akademi,
Delhi for his "Ek Duniya Mahri" in 1985. He was awarded with Ganeshilal
Vyas ‘Ustad’ Padhya Puraskar and Dr. L P Tessitory Gadhya Puruskar.
Sanwar Ji's poetry has an innate depth . His poems emerge from heart, hence, stir the chords of heart of the reader spontaneously.. His poems speak about nature, love, relations and realities of life. His poems cover all the hues of spectrum The poems delve on multifarious themes .Rooted deep in his native soil, he deals with the ordinariness of life. His poetry discusses the turmoil and turbulence of life, but never leaves optimism. This establishes him as a poet of balanced stance. His poems are enriched with lofty thoughts, deep perceptions, sensibility, simplicity and straightforwardness. He retains the equipoise of a prophet or a seer.
This English Version of his selected poetry offers a variety of emotions as his poetic world is not confined to any particular theme. His poems are an expression of a human being with a deep will to survive and invokes others to struggle for betterment and for building a new society. His poems have a philosophical tinge and invoke readers to link themselves with nature and petty joys of life.
Dr. Neeraj Daiya, worthy son of Sanwar Daiya Ji, intended to get released this book on Birth Anniversary of his Respected father. A few days ago, Neeraj Ji conveyed his wish to me regarding getting translated by me, poems of Late Sanwar Daiya Ji and I promised him to put my best efforts to finish the translation project in stipulated time. I feel exulted that I could complete this translation project in 5 days only, by Grace of God.
Our literary creations make us immortal. A poet breathes in his poems even after his extinction from mortal world. Hereby, I am quoting a short poem of Late Sh. Sanwar Daiya ji
Though
I am non existent now
My compositions exist
My compositions thrive.
That is fine
In pretext of my creations
I still survive.
I have put my best efforts to retain fervour of original poems of Rajasthani and Hindi. It will give me immense satisfaction if these translated poems of mine crosses linguistic and geographical barriers and gets translated further in other regional as well as International languages.
