SMOULDERING OR IGNITING.
SMOULDERING OR IGNITING.
Inserting wood in earthen stove
The girl tries to burn it
But instead of igniting
It just smoulders
Holding breath in mouth
And releasing it like pipe
Tries to lit fire again
So that making some chapatis
Could be managed
Or else father will
Yell at her mother.
The dame observes wood
Well acquainted with its fate
Either it has to ignite
Or to smoulder
At that very moment
Two pearls
Flow on her cheeks
Due to smoke caused by
Fire-band
Which she wipes with
Edge of her Odhni
What is her ultimate fate
Get burnt or
Decipher her new fate
Sprouting from revolt.
She ponders over it.
Girl of today
Will have to think
For tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteHearty thanks
ReplyDeleteInsightful to think how the females have so much to bear and her tears become pearls of wisdom the women have come so far and rightfully so freedom from being chained to an ideal is the hardest yet rewarding journey you will take
