LONGING FOR IDENTITY

 LONGING FOR IDENTITY

I remained less significant

Then a name scribbled with

Chalk-powder

On a wall.

Longing for identity

Whiteness that clung

With the fingers

That--was washed away.

Now, myself

Only remnant

In the  frowning colony

Sometimes stagnant,

 Sometimes flowing water.
