INTIMACY AND SYMPATHY : Original Nepali Poem by Birbhadra Karkidholi English Transversion by Rajni Chhabra

POET BIRBHADRA KARKIDHOLI

 INTIMACY AND SYMPATHY

**************************

It is not requisite to drown

After reaching bank of river

After reaching near stream

It is not requisite to quench thirst

With that water only

I have received more love

From thorns

As compared to flowers

Many people won't believe me

My own have left me in lurch

As compared to strangers

Anguish of a caste is same

Only pain and tolerance process

Is different

The moon that we are beholding is

Solitary in the sky, since epochs

Don't mention intimacy and sympathy

Hearts of this generation are

Like deserted orchids

Persons dwelling on thorns

Regret that

They have been hurt

By flowers.
