VIEWING HIMALAYA : ENGLISH VERSION BY RAJNI CHHABRA. ORIGINALLY COMPOSED IN NEPALI BY BIRBHADRA KARKIDHOLI

 VIEWING HIMALAYA

*********************

Inaccessible regions, great heights

During this arduous journey to reach you

To quench your thirst

I could not get a fistful of water

On this height

No hypernyms, no stream was available

Could not come across

Any bank of river or any stream.

Dismissing some moments of your memories

Intending to get rid of fatigue

I could not get any resting place

Any motel

Was not available for this

Exhausted traveller.

The courage on dint of which

I had accepted this challenging journey

Carrying burden of heavy bundles

How am I managing to climb

On these great heights

I have left behind many mountains

Still, so many mountains are ahead

Several persons insisted me to drop this journey

But how could I retreat

This very moment, I am viewing Himalaya

With the advent of morning

Just as the Sun

In your reveries

I am melting

I have learnt to melt only!
