HONESTY, WAR : RAJASTHANI POEMS BY BASANTI PANWAR

 HONESTY

Honesty 

Committed suicide

But why ? 

Nobody meddles his head

Over this issue

That poor thing

Had got fed up with corruption

She felt utterly isolated

Everybody cursed her

Shun her away

She was not liked by anybody

Everyone wanted to

Strangulate her neck.

She felt choked

Amidst such brutality

It became hard to survive

What else could she do

One day, accepting defeat

She hanged herself

But without her

Life of gentlemen has become

Full of hardships

They, too, have started

Committing suicide

For sake of reviving honesty.



WAR

War leaves behind

So many questions

Why these bomb-blasts?

Hither and thither

Why scattered all -around

Pieces of human flesh

Why innocent, speechless animals

Get entrapped and sacrificed in war

Makes heart bleed

And river of tears flow.

Why are devastated homes

Made so effortfully

Why are children left devoid of parents

Why are parents left devoid of children


What are basic needs for survival

Two times meals to satisfy hunger

Two yards of land to sleep

Every possession is left hereby only

Then, why human-beings kill other human-beings

Why wars are waged in this world

Why don't hearts of bomb-blasters shudder?

Are they devoid of conscience?
