LETTER BOX, INCESSANTLY: RAJASTHANI POEMS OF DUSHYANT

****************************************************************

Letter- Box

This red box is silent
And silent is letter-box
Fixed outside my door
Now, nobody waits
Eagerly for letters
It had been a witness of
Auspicious and inauspicious events
Mourning and celebrations
Birth and demise
Mobile and e-mail have snatched away
Words landing in depths of heart
Cyber-café has grabbed
Hustle and bustle of post-offices
Now postmen doze
And it seems
Letter-boxes are yawning
Words are entrapped by drought
And echoing are now
Formulas of Einstein
In accordance with ' E=mc'
For centuries around us.

Incessantly

***********

I am neither on this side
Nor on that side
I am in between

But, this is not
My permanent address
Life is like a fish
Which is associated with
Life-long restlessness without water

In the dark alleys of fear
I caress dreams of my mother
I have to search on my own
A bank
I won't remain neutral
Same is the time
Same is the tree
Same is the courtyard
Same are Monsoon month and rains
Same gusts of wind prevail
And amidst all these
I am incessantly
Searching myself.
